My 12 years old daughter is at the doctor with my husband as I type and her doctor told my husband as I listened on the phone, that the hpv shot was mandatory. If I understand correctly, this is not mandatory. I didn't really want her to get that or the h1n1 due to the fact it hasn't been around long enough for me. What can I do or who do I report this to?

Hello,

I do not know what state you live in, so I don't know whether the HPV vaccine is mandatory there or not. I do know, as stated above, that some states are making it mandatory. As I state above, because of the prevalence of HPV infections, I believe that the vaccine is a good thing. I can, however, understand your concern.

The FDA has approved the vaccine.
