While I was still "in press" on this Blog today, I missed an update to the Matthew Hindes' case. Matthew Catchick, a family law attorney in Southfield, Michigan, posted a link to a Detroit Free Press article on the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Listserv that is highly relevant to this case. Thank you Matt! Yesterday, Sunday June 23, 2014, Judge Noe in Lenawee County, Michigan issued an order adjourning the pending motion.
Apparently, there's been some miscommunication in this case, now resolved . . . at least as far as the need for a dispositive hearing today. The judge has adjourned the hearing on the basis of servicemember Hindes' right for relief under the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act.
