A new website for military service members and their families has been launched by the American Bar Association recently. The website's purpose is to provide information about a variety of legal issues to servicemembers. Called the ABA Home Front, the website has an information center, a directory of programs and a military pro bono center.
Henry M. Dewoskin, chairperson of the military committee of the Family Law Section, says that he and other volunteers worked with ABA staff to provide clearly written and understood information for people who are not lawyers. Dewoskin, is a judge advocate general officer who currently serves as a major in the U.S. Army Reserve. He hopes this website will be a great resource for the public.
Legal protection for active-duty military and their families provided by the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act is explained on the website, which will provide 24/7 information to servicemembers and their families.
