A New York Times tech blog exposes a new App for Android phones that would secretly forward text messages to any other phone without the knowledge of the Anroid's owner. Wow! Think how much easier it coulda been to catch up with Kwame!
While this could be a terrific source of good material for those divorcing, think of the privacy issues.
"Update: While you don’t need anyone’s approval to get into the Android Market, the dominant store for Android apps, you do need to follow the rules, and apparently Secret SMS Replicator does not do that. A Google spokesman said via e-mail that the application had been suspended effective Wednesday evening because it “violates the Android Market Content Policy.”
Whew! A sigh of relief. However, be aware that the technogology exists. How long until the developer of the App finds a way around the Android Market Content Policy? And . . . even though it's illegal to snag emails and screen images with the software and hardware available with keystroke programs, I note that they are still for sale on the Internet.
